5 out of 5 stars A MUST FOR THE DIE HARD AMERICAN PIT BULL FANCIER   February 24, 2005

This book is the most informative book I have ever read about the American Pit Bull Terrier. I also, have some Richard F. Stratton books and the ADBA "Gazette" magazine. This book talks about the history of pit bulls fighting back then in details. I AM NOT into Gametesting or rolling my dogs. I do NOT believe in fighting dogs at all and angers me when someone and alot of people does. BUT, you have to fully understand the history to understand the breed. I'm sure alot of people are going to be sicken after reading the book, but you really cannot deny the history of the breed. On the other hand, 2/3 of the page talks about how to properly raise and breed the American Pit Bull Terrier. I think if you are on your way out to purchase the best breed in the world, you should really consider doing your homework. As this breed is NOT FOR EVERYONE, responsible owners required 100% .. repeat that line 10x's and get it through your head. If you are thinking of wanting a macho or tough looking dog. Chances are you're headed for trouble. This book got a 5 star because it shed some light to the breed, unlike many other books I read. All it talks about is the pros. You need to know the PROS AND CONS of a APBT. Buy this book, it is a must have for the APBT fancier. And it's probably the only bible on Pit Bulls you will ever need. I also, do own some Richard Stratton books, and I highly recommend them as well.
