Editorial Reviews:

Description
Off the Chain is an unprecedented look into the underground world of dog fighting. Beginning with a history of the American Pit Bull Terrier, the film explores the evolution of the breed. Classic film and television footage show the popularity of what was once considered a noble and trustworthy family pet. Examine how this breed went from America's dog to public enemy number one. Travel to the back alleys and dark corners of the inner city to expose the truth behind the breed's new status in pop culture; an urban symbol for violence, aggression and gang-life. The first documentary of it's kind; director Bobby J. Brown spent three years infiltrating the underground subculture of pit-bull fighting. Gaining the trust of well established dog men, they allowed him to film behind their dangerous veil of secrecy.

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING!   July 17, 2008
Off the chain is a in-depth look at APBT's as a family dogs , fighting dogs, and historic dogs. The APBT is a breed mis understood by the masses, a breed given a bad rep but stupid owners and dog fighters alike. Off the Chain shows how the APBT came to be America's #1 banned breed it takes you to the pit's it shows this wonderful breed fighting for it's life and being pitted, This video awakens a whole new world of the APBT as a lover of this breed for since before i could read, It makes you realize the true ignorance of dog fighters, they say they love their dogs, that they are helping the breed and fixing it, IT makes you mad to see these so called dog men say these things and gives you a even more sense of this breeds ability to love humans so much that they are willing to fight for their lives in a pit.

IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS VIDEO AND ARE A LOVER OF THE BREED IT IS A MUST SEE!

4 out of 5 stars Hard to watch , but need to see   April 25, 2008
This was a very good movie to watch. many parts in it i would close my eyes or turn my head. but then snap back to see it. telling myself that i need to know whats going on out there. Bc ignoring it. is one of the rezones it got so out of control.
Its not all about Dog fighting tho. There are so Very good parts in there that talks about the History of Pitbulls. only thing that worries me about this movie is that some people might buy it for the wrong reason. People who just want to see dogs get hurt. and have no respect for the breed.
Im planing on getting me a Blue Pitbull. that i want to name "Bear" Soon
Im about to donate my mom one of my Kidneys so i have to wait in till im done with that. I would like to adopt one from a shelter. but my mom dose not really like pit bulls. So i think i need to get a puppy first so that she can watch it grow up too see that they are not a bad dog.

4 out of 5 stars Pet lover's nightmare   April 16, 2008

This is exactly what you expect to get, a horrifying look into the world of dog fighting. The owners are ignorant to the abuse they inflict and the dogs do what they are trained to do, kill. Some of the scenes will turn your stomach, one in particular as a 200+lbs man standing on the neck of a 30lbs dog. Not to spoil the ending for you but justice was served when they disclosed what each owner was sentenced too, mostly fines and probation. No mention of Michael Vick for you football fans.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent DVD!!! DOES NOT PROMOTE DOGFIGHTS!!!!   March 21, 2008

THIS DVD DOES NOT PROMOTE DOGFIGHTING!! Those who have given it a low rating because they think this IS promoting it are moronic! This DVD is hard to watch at times, but it is a true portayal of the atrocity of dogfighting. I personally covered my eyes during the fighting parts because I already know more than I want to about the disgusting "sport", but I like to keep abreast of how big this problem is. Watch this DVD and you too will be fighting for stronger punishment to dogfighters. May they all rot in hell soon!!
